Biography

My photography has developed through many different stages but it is always characterized by an evocative subject matter highlighting the atmosphere surrounding people and places.
As a storyteller and photographer, I do not limit myself to one area of photography as I enjoy being tested and stimulated by working in a number of disciplines as shown in this website.
Having travelled extensively, I am fascinated by how capturing images of the diversity of people and cultures also evokes experiences which are common to us all.
The camera remains my chosen creative tool and I aim to create images that bring pleasure to others. I love my job and for this reason I remain passionate.

I love to photograph all things but my first love is to photograph people. I enjoy working with people to capture every social event’s unique quality. I am by nature a sociable person, and pride myself on being friendly, courteous and sensitive to people’s needs. You will find that I am genuinely caring about you and your needs.

Timeline
Diego Bonfanti was born in Bergamo, Italy in 1973. At the age of twenty-two he moved to London to study photography. After completing a two year BTEC National Diploma in Design (photography), he traveled for 2 years around the globe.
After revisiting South America, he spent one year in Australia where he worked with a still life photographer while studying on a portrait course at the Australia Centre of Photography. The last 9 months of the journey took him through Southeast Asia and India. He captured the beauty of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. However, insofar as his development as a photographer, the high point of the journey also proved to be the most trying; he spent three months based in the chaos of central Ho Chi Minh City working as a volunteer photography teacher for Saigon Children’s Charity. He taught street children basic photography and was responsible for designing and executing a 6-week introductory course to B&W photography.
Since then he has published images in Traveler magazine and other different publication, from editorial to advertising.
